Making an appointment: Our clinic is open six days a week and special bookings may be arranged after hours upon request. We are flexible and will strive to organise a time to suit you.

Consultation fees:
these can be claimed if you carry extras cover on your private health insurance. For your convenience, we can also claim your benefit from most funds automatically on the day of your treatment.
If you are covered by Workers Compensation or The Department of Veterans Affairs, we can send the accounts directly to these organisations on your behalf.

Referrals: Referral from a doctor is not required for our specialists unless you are claiming through Veterans Affairs, Workcover or third party insurance.
If you have been in an accident, or suffering a particular problem, your doctor or surgeon may suggest you see a specialist. Ask them to refer you to the Runaway Bay Sports Medicine Clinic. We ensure you will receive the best and most advanced treatment for your condition. We also send comprehensive reports to your doctor to keep them informed.

Physiotherapy

Our team of registered physiotherapists treat injury and diseases by correcting and improving the body's own healing mechanism, without the use of drugs or medication. This involves a detailed assessment in order to make a clinical diagnosis and select the appropriate treatment. During physiotherapy we provide ongoing reassessment and give correct advice for a home exercise program to aid the prevention of recurrence. The Sports Super Centre provides a safe and comfortable environment. All our physiotherapists are qualified, state registered members of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Back and Neck Problems: One of our many areas of specialisation, our goal is to get your back on your feet as soon as possible while ensuring your back and neck health in the long-term.

With access to our many facilities including the state-of-the-art gymnasium and aquatic centre, you will be able to improve your overall fitness, which has been proven to have long-term beneficial effects for back care.

Sports Physiotherapy: this is another specialised area we cover. You will see many high-profile athletes recover quickly from injury and within no time they are back on the field. This is due to the high level of care sports physiotherapy provides and now you can receive the same service. Our team are trained in providing sports physio from amateur to elite athletes in almost every sport and have experience in treating some well-known elite athletes.


Podiatry

Any sport which involves running, walking, standing or jumping places higher demands on our body than normal day to day activities. Injuries to the foot and lower limb make up a large proportion of sporting injuries. Podiatrists are trained to examine and diagnose the foot and lower limb, have a good understanding and knowledge of the biomechanics of athletic movement, and can recommend appropriate footwear, training regimens, and if needed, orthotic devices to fit into the sports shoe.

Dietitians
A healthy, balanced diet is essential to maintain a full life. From elite athletes to the elderly, all types of people have different nutritional needs. Our qualified dietitians can educate you and help you maintain the correct diet for your individual circumstance. Ask about our Super Trim program.

Naturopathy
Naturopathy has been used throughout the ages to cure ailments and create balance in the body using natural remedies making it a safe, effective alternative to conventional medicines. The Naturopath focuses on the cause of an ailment, rather than the symptom and treats the body as a whole to create overall wellness.

Sportsmind Mental Mastery
An essential mental and emotional skill-building workshop providing practical techniques to improve the seven key areas of mental training for peak athletic performance: Positive Self Motivation; Powerful Goal Achievement Strategies; Concentration & Focusing Techniques; Emotional State Mastery; Positive Mental Attitude; Confidence & Positive Self Concept; and Precision Visualisation Techniques. Sportsmind Mental Mastery combines the following five days of intensive workshops : attend the full program or individual days.

Day 1 - Unleash Your Visual Power.
Learn a smarter approach to achieving your dreams through using basic and advanced visualisation techniques to enhance many aspects of your performance, including specific exercises to improve sports skill levels and competition performances.

Day 2 - Take Charge of Your Destiny.

Enhance your personal momentum using power motivation techniques and motivational principles for teachers, coaches and team leaders to successfully motivate others in a positive, empowering way. Strengthen your goals with positive compulsions, and lock them into your personal timeline.

Day 3 - Positive Attitude & Powerful Self Image
Learn how to focus on the positive, build a powerful self image, and develop the mental toughness of a champion.

Day 4 - Core of Confidence & Emotional Mastery
Learn how to develop your confidence and master negative emotions to get into the peak performance 'zone' using simple, practical techniques suitable for both training and competition.

Day 5 - Smash the Belief Barriers.
Learn how beliefs work in our lives; how to release limiting beliefs; and how to encourage more positive and empowering beliefs in your life.

Sportsmind One-on-One Champion Performance Coaching provides practical techniques and strategies for the mental and emotional challenges that are encountered at elite level in sport and in business. Talent and physical ability can only get you so far - then it comes down to attitude and training. Personal success coaching will get you further and keep you at the top longer. Private and confidential coaching sessions cover all the essential mental and emotional skills needed to unlock you physical and technical abilities.

Health Navigator
The Health Navigator program is a new initiative at the Sports Super Centre. The program is aimed at assessing your current health, fitness and lifestyle and creating an action plan for you to get the most out of life. The program is particularly suitable for individuals wanting to get a "benchmark" measurement of health and fitness or to monitor fitness over time. The Health Navigator program incorporates as many of the following as you choose: aerobic fitness (6 minutes of cycling), resting and exercise blood pressure, body composition measurement and basic flexibility and strength.

Sports Physician
Our doctor specializes in the field of sports medicine, and is a member of the Australasian College of Sports Physicians. One does not need to be an ‘athlete’ to attend a sports physician, rather someone who is attempting to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle, but is struggling as a result of a medical or musculoskeletal condition to do so. Our doctor can give advice in regards to acute injury management, overcoming chronic or overuse conditions, management of medical problems such as exercise induced asthma, diabetes and obesity, and how best to start an exercise programme in a previously sedentary individual
